Children with special needs, are children that is unique in the types and characteristics, which distinguish them from normal children in general. This condition requires an understanding of the nature of children with special needs. The diversity of children with special needs teachers sometimes complicate efforts identifies the type and delivery of appropriate educational services. However, if the teacher has the knowledge and understanding about the nature of children with special needs, then they will be able to meet the child’s needs accordingly.

There are several terms used to indicate the state of children with special needs. The term children with special needs is a new term being used, and a translation of the child with special needs that have been used widely in the international community, there are some other terms that have been used include children with disabilities, children tuna, children with disabilities, children stray, and son outside usual. In line with the development of the recognition of human rights, including children’s, the term is used with special needs children. The use of the term special needs consequences different perspective in terms of exceptional children who never used and may still be used. For example, a blind boy, obviously he has limitations in the field of vision, but he also has the potential for intellectual ability was not different from normal children, then to be able to perform to his intellectual capacity required compensatory sense of vision aids such as talking computers, talking books, writing books Braille etc.. In compliance with the requirement that the blind will be able to perform in accordance with the intellectual capacity and able to compete with normal children.

That special education is an education that is intended for students who have difficulty in following the learning process due to physical, emotional, mental, social, and / or have the potential for intelligence and special talents. Therefore, to enhance the capabilities they needed membelajarkan a conducive learning environment, good place to learn, methods, systems assessment, infrastructure and no less important is the availability of adequate educational media in accordance with the needs of the learners.

As the role of media education has increased so teachers and media education should be linked to one another to provide ease of learning for students. In a sense, the teacher as a facilitator should be able to function optimally educational media in accordance with the expected goals. Individual attention and guidance can be implemented by teachers well as educational media can also be presented in a clear, interesting, and thorough. Therefore, it becomes a necessity for inclusive education for every operator to place media education as an essential component of the education system are held.

It has been enriched with educational media and instructional media sources, such as textbooks, modules, overhead transparencies, film, vidio, television, slides, and so forth. But the media was apparently not enough to motivate as well as to develop attitudes and skills the child’s personality, talents, mental abilities to reach their optimal potential. This is where media education is necessary modifications according to the needs of the learners. The development of media education should be pursued to exploit the advantages possessed by the media and try to avoid obstacles that may arise in the learning process.

B. Problems

The problem is how to prepare media for children with special needs in inclusive settings?.

The following will be discussed briefly about learning media model for ABK in inclusive schools.

C. Concept Media

Media education is anything that can be used to deliver a message from the sender to the receiver so that it can stimulate the thoughts, feelings, concerns, and interests of students in such a way that the learning process occurs effectively and efficiently. Media is a tool that can help the learning process that serves to clarify the meaning of the message so that the purpose of the learning process can be achieved perfectly. Media education also acts as a stimulus to foster learning and motivation so that students do not feel bored in achieving learning goals.

Media education is very important for teachers and learners. This is because any teaching materials must be submitted by teachers using the media, not least of which is the use of verbal media in the form of words uttered in front of learners.

Media education can diedakan in 4 (four) types, namely:

(1) visual media; drawings, photos, sketches, diagrams charts, cardboard foster, map and globe.

(2) Media heard: radio, tape recorders, language labs, and CDs.

(3) Project still media: slides, OHP.

(4) Projected mosion media: TV, Vidio, Computers.

There is also a group of experts who classify media education into 6 (six) types, namely:

(1) visual tools in the field of two-dimensional non-transparent, drawings, charts, maps, posters.

(2) Various board: blackboard, white board, flannel board.

(3) Visual 3-D: original objects, models, items / equipment knockoff.

(4) Audio: radio, tape recorder, CD.

(5) Audiovisual pure: film.

(Six) Demonstration and widya tour.

From the above, it can be concluded that media education is a kind of communication forms of printed or audio-visual equipment and tools to achieve learning objectives.

D. Models Media Education for ABK

Media education and learning has many types and each has different characteristics, so teachers need to understand the characteristics of the medium in order to select the media in accordance with the purpose of learning. Model-based educational media characteristics are classified into two parts: Media two-dimensional and three-dimensional media.
